Enrollment data:  CALPADS

In 2009-10, the state of California implemented a new statewide data collection, reporting, and analysis framework – the California Longitudinal Pupil Achievement Data System, or CALPADS. CALPADS has been designed to collect data on pupil assessments, enrollment, student and teacher assignments, courses, program participation, and other elements to track graduation and dropout rates.

The new system will be the cornerstone for compliance with the federal No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Act of 2001 that calls for increased accountability for student achievement.

Every student in California’s schools will be tracked using a unique Statewide Student Identifier (SSID).

In this report, we are using enrollment data that each Santa Barbara County school district submitted to CALPADS. When the CALPADS system is fully implemented, it will allow a perpetual enrollment count that will be easily accessible.

This unofficial summary is prepared by the School Business Advisory Services of the Santa Barbara County Education Office. School districts are given an opportunity by the CDE to amend their reports; however, those amendments are not included in this publication.
