Early Care and Education Needs Assessment

Needs Assessment

One of the mandated responsibilities of County Child Care Planning Councils is to undertake a comprehensive assessment of the needs and services for early care and education throughout the county. In 1996 the Santa Barbara County Child Care Planning Council published “Child Care in Santa Barbara County: 1996 Status Report”, and in December 1999 the “Santa Barbara County Child Care Planning Council Needs Assessment” was completed. Copies of both documents are available by contacting the Council Office, sbcccpc@sbceo.org. In 2005, the Council completed a third meeds assessment "Santa Barbara County - The Status of Early Care and Education".

"Early Care and Education Now, Santa Barbara County" is the most recent report of early care and education needs and services in Santa Barbara County.

This report was first prepared in 2010 based on data gathered in 2009. Information in the report will be updated regularly as new data becomes available. Thus, it is important to note the date associated with the tables and charts in the document.
