Education Technology K-12 Voucher Program:
Funding for this program resulted from a Settlement Agreement between the state of California and the Microsoft Corporation. Eligible schools may use vouchers to purchase hardware, software, technical support, and professional development.

EETT - Enhancing Education Through Technology:

EETT Formula Funded Grants:
Approximately $5.75 million will be available in 2010-2012 for Formula Grants under Title II, Part D, No Child Left Behind Act. Successful funding requires submission to, and approval by the CDE of a three to five year district technology planning document that meets all of the state and federal requirements.

Eligibility Requirements:

Districts receiving funds under Part A, Title I and eligible local partnerships. Districts not receiving Part A, Title I funding may participate in the program if they apply in consortium with an LEA that receives funds under Part A, Title I.

EETT Competitive Grants:
Approximately $5.75 million was available for the
Round 9 Competitive Grants under Title II, Part D, No Child Left Behind Act. These EETT grants are subject to Senate Bill 192, which guided the competition. The application deadline for Round 9 was February 1, 2011.

EETT ARRA Stimulus Grant :
On November 23, 2010, the CDE announced the recipients and funding amounts for the EETT-C ARRA Stimulus Grant. 151 LEA's were selected statewide, receiving a total funding amount of $36,400,00. LEA's selected from Santa Barbara County included:

  • Santa Maria-Bonita School District
  • Lompoc Unified School District

E-Rate Program: E-rate is a federal program of the Federa\l Communications Commission administered by the Schools and Libraries Division (SLD) of the Universal Service Administrative Company that provides eligible K-12 public schools and libraries 20% to 90% discounts on approved telecommunications, Internet access, and internal connections costs. E-rate discounts are based on the number of students eligible for the National School Lunch Program. Schools and libraries in low-income urban communities and rural areas qualify for higher discounts. Although the E-rate application process can be difficult, every school district should consider applying for E-rate discounts.
