1. Process Papers- These need to be saved in a folder, partly for the teacher, but also to help kids see the workflow, and keep focused on the different text and drawing elements.
- Grid for notes and language

This is what we fill out the first day, to organize our observations and the thinking process that follows. They use this as a reference for their design and labeling.

- Drafts

These start very rough, many have trouble with basic line drawing and setting up the 3 D effects. It's good for them to review what they've accomplished in visualization.

* Online Notes and saved graphics
Not vital to unit, but I have them put their online notes and saved graphics in their folder on our shared hard drive, and we then have the option of extending the activities in a variety of ways around the art or science.

2. Final Model- This is self-assessed and assessed by the teacher based on a simple rubric. You should adjust this based on your own emphases in the unit.
We spent a whole period "calibrating" ourselves before the final draft was done, so that kids can use their initial experiences to help them understand what is really a fairly complex set of expectations.

3. Students Share= Volunteers- only for me! Usually 7-10 really want to share in front of class, so we put theirs up around the room, and they go up to share. In addition, I post others that have something particularly interesting to show (and also to put up work by students who showed real growth for themselves)

This is a popular item for students to share with parents at back to school night, because so much of it is their own creativity, and because they already have internalized the language of their thinking.
