Arthur, King of Britain- and LEGEND !
1. The real Arthur was a war leader in Britain around 500 AD
2. The legend begins with - Mother - Queen Igraine ,  father - King Uther Pendragon. 
3.  Sorcerer Merlin gave Uther a special sword -"Excalibur", but Uther was not a good king .
4. Merlin took Uther's son(Arthur) away and gave him to a kind knight( Sir Ector) who had a son( Kay). 
5.  Uther stuck Excalibur into a large rock before dying.
6. After Uther's death there was disorder and lawlessness . 
7. No one could take the sword from the stone, except Arthur
8. Some lords refused to accept Arthur as king. 
9. Sorcerer Merlin advised Arthur and,with his queen,Guinevere,  made a capital named Camelot. 
10. He created the Round Table where each knight was equal and where people got help. 
11. Arthur's best knight was Lancelot from France- perfect in courage, skill, and courtesy. 
      But he fell in love with Guinevere and took her away.
12. Another knight ( Sir Galahad) searched for the Holy Grail, the cup Jesus used
      at the Last Supper.
13. Arthur's united and peaceful kingdom ended because of a wicked nephew, Mordred, who died in the last battle.
       Arthur was fatally wounded. 
14. A trusted knight threw Excalibur into a lake where it was taken by the Lady of the Lake. 
15. Legend says Arthur did not die, but was taken away to Avalon, or Paradise. 
       From there he will  return one day when needed. 

Extra ---After he was killed in battle, he may have been buried in Glastonbury Abbey in Southern  England.
In the year 1150, King Henry II of England ordered Arthur's tomb to be opened.  
A sword was found with his bones, and a cross in his tombstone said, in Roman letters,
"Here lies buried the famous King  Arthur, in the island of Avalonia."
